Christmas Show Music Camp

“Let us have music for Christmas…
Sound the trumpet of joy and rebirth;
Let each of us try, with a song in our hearts,
To bring peace to men on earth.”

-Mildred L. Jarrell

Let Us Have Music for Christmas…

Do you remember draping a towel over your head and tying it with a colorful cloth to become Mary, Joseph, or one of the shepherds for a Christmas show? There was something magical in bringing the true Christmas story to life with simple costumes and spiritual songs.

Music Potpourri will give your child the same opportunity to remember the birth of Christ through song, music, and movement…and, yes, maybe a towel and some angel wings. With a song in our hearts, let each of us bring peace to men on earth…

Christmas Camp

The Music Potpourri Christmas Show Music Camp will encourage children in preschool through 5th grade to explore the true story of Christmas through story and music, culminating in the production of a short Christmas show created by the participants.

Camp sessions will last 45 minutes, one time per week, for six weeks leading up to the Christmas production. Children will explore musical concepts like rhythm, melody, dynamics, and timbre as they sing, move to music, listen to music, and play simple instruments.

Parents/caregivers will attend each session as an observer and to cheer on their child’s Christmas creativity.
